Standard and Custom USBs will plug into New iPad

16th August 2019 | News | Billy Rooney

The new Apple iPad will allow you to plug in your branded and custom USBs from Flash UK! Previous iPad models have not been provided a port for your USB to enter, but Apple has prioritised such a feature this time around. Just as you can plug your USB stick into a laptop or computer, you’ll now be able to plug your USB into Apple’s new tablet.

With the new iPad, there is no need for a USB on the go cable anymore, just simply plug in and away you go. Browse our custom memory sticks today and determine the USBs most suited to you as we await the release of the new iPad. Perhaps items from our range of metal USBs and novelty USBs would look in keeping with the new iPad.

USBs and iPad Unite

The functionality was recently announced on stage at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), providing users of USB flash drives and iPad advocates all over the world with a groundbreaking moment. As well as being compatible for USB sticks, it will also be particularly useful for photographs, enabling you to import photos into apps such as Lighthouse directly from your SD card.

New USB Friendly System Boost Usability

This is all being made possible by Apple’s brand new operating system, called the iPadOS. The system also includes a new Files app, which will ultimately make files easier to manage once they’re actually on the tablet. In addition, forwarding files on from the new iPad is made possible by the updating of iCloud – it now supports folder sharing. We’re excited to see which new devices Apple install this software into in the near future, following on from this revelation.

The iPad’s file management limitations has been a murky area for Apple in recent years. However, this development marks a significant step for Apple in their quest to bring the iPad a step closer to Macs and other PCs, in terms of usability. At the WWDC conference in San Diego, Apple released a company statement, saying, as reported by CNET: “iPadOS supports external drives, allowing users to easily plug in USB drives, SD cards or log into an SMB file server, all from within the Files app”.
